Returns & Shipping Policy

Effective Date: July 1st, 2026

This Returns & Shipping Policy explains how returns, exchanges, refunds, shipping, damaged shipments, and final-sale items are handled by McCabe & Camp, Corp., doing business as McCabe’s Guitar Shop (“McCabe’s,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

Our store is located at:

McCabe’s Guitar Shop
3101 Pico Blvd.
Santa Monica, CA 90405
United States

Please read this policy before making a purchase. Some McCabe’s items are returnable. Some are not. Instruments, tickets, lessons, repairs, special orders, and consignment items have different rules.

1. Quick Overview

Different types of purchases have different return rules:

  • New instruments: eligible for return within 10 days, subject to the conditions below
  • Concert tickets: final sale; no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations
  • Used, vintage, consignment, clearance, special-order, and “as-is” instruments: final sale unless McCabe’s states otherwise in writing
  • Harmonicas and other sanitary items: final sale
  • Repairs and repair deposits: not returnable; repair guaranty terms are handled separately
  • Private lessons with independent music teachers: governed by the policy or agreement provided by the individual teacher, unless McCabe’s expressly states otherwise in writing
  • Classes, workshops, and group programs: governed by the policy provided at booking or purchase and/or the independent contractor
  • Eligible accessories and merchandise: may be returnable if unused, unopened where applicable, and in original condition

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law.

2. New Instrument Returns

Most new instruments purchased from McCabe’s may be returned within 10 days of purchase or delivery, subject to this policy.

To be eligible for return, a new instrument must be:

  • Purchased new from McCabe’s
  • Returned within 10 days
  • In the same condition in which it was sold
  • Free from damage, modification, misuse, neglect, odors, smoke exposure, water exposure, humidity damage, dryness damage, impact damage, or signs of abuse
  • Returned with all included parts, accessories, paperwork, cases, gig bags, packaging, and materials
  • Accepted by McCabe’s after inspection

McCabe’s may refuse a return or reduce a refund if the instrument is damaged, altered, incomplete, missing items, or no longer in the same condition in which it was sold.

3. Final-Sale Instruments

The following instruments are final sale unless McCabe’s states otherwise in writing:

  • Used instruments
  • Vintage instruments
  • Consignment instruments
  • Clearance instruments
  • Special-order instruments
  • Instruments sold “as is”
  • Instruments damaged after purchase
  • Instruments modified after purchase
  • Instruments not purchased from McCabe’s

These items are often unique, limited, specially sourced, or sold based on condition. Please inspect and ask questions before purchasing.

4. Concert Tickets Are Final Sale

All concert ticket sales are final. There are no customer-initiated refunds, no customer-initiated exchanges, and no customer-initiated cancellations at any time. No exceptions.

Please review the event date, time, artist, ticket quantity, attendee information, and order details carefully before completing your purchase.

Tickets may not be returned or exchanged for another event, date, showtime, store credit, merchandise, lessons, repairs, or any other product or service.

If McCabe’s cancels, postpones, reschedules, or replaces an event, McCabe’s will handle the matter as required by applicable law.

5. Accessories, Books, Strings, Merchandise, and Other Items

Eligible accessories and merchandise may be returned within 30 days of purchase or delivery if they are unused, unopened where applicable, in original condition, and returned with original packaging, tags, parts, manuals, and accessories.

McCabe’s may refuse a return or reduce a refund if an item is used, opened, damaged, incomplete, missing packaging, or no longer in sellable condition.

The following items are final sale unless McCabe’s states otherwise in writing:

  • Harmonicas
  • Opened strings
  • Opened reeds, mouthpieces, or other sanitary items
  • Opened or used care products
  • Opened media, books, or printed materials that are not in resale condition
  • Gift cards
  • Clearance items
  • Special-order items
  • Custom items
  • Items sold “as is”
  • Items damaged after purchase

6. Lessons, Classes, Workshops, and Independent Teachers

Music lessons at McCabe’s are taught by independent music teachers who rent teaching space from McCabe’s. These teachers are independent contractors, not employees of McCabe’s.

McCabe’s may provide general information about teachers, lesson options, instruments taught, schedules, and contact methods, but private lesson arrangements are generally made directly between the student or parent/guardian and the independent teacher.

Private lesson fees, cancellations, rescheduling, missed lessons, credits, and refunds are governed by the policy or agreement provided by the individual teacher, unless McCabe’s expressly states otherwise in writing.

McCabe’s may also offer or host certain classes, workshops, group programs, or special events. Those programs may have separate registration, cancellation, refund, or credit terms provided at the time of booking or purchase.

If a student purchases an instrument, accessory, book, starter kit, or other merchandise from McCabe’s in connection with lessons, that merchandise purchase is governed by this Returns & Shipping Policy.

If the participant is a minor, a parent or guardian should handle inquiries, registration, payment arrangements, and communications.

7. Repairs

Repair payments, repair deposits, parts ordered for repairs, and completed repair work are not returnable as merchandise.

Repair estimates, repair timing, repair approvals, storage, abandoned property, declined work, payment requirements, and repair guaranty terms may be governed by separate repair policies, repair tickets, or written communications.

Repair guaranty language is addressed in McCabe’s Terms & Conditions and may also appear on McCabe’s repair tickets.

8. How to Start a Return

Before returning an item, please contact McCabe’s.

Email: mccabes@mccabes.com
Phone: (310) 828-4497
Store: McCabe’s Guitar Shop, 3101 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405

Please include:

  • Your name
  • Order number, receipt number, or approximate purchase date
  • Item purchased
  • Reason for return
  • Whether the item was purchased in-store or online
  • Whether the item was shipped or picked up in person

McCabe’s keeps records of many purchases, but we may ask for a receipt, order confirmation, account information, or other reasonable purchase information if we cannot locate the transaction.

Please do not ship an item back to McCabe’s without contacting us first.

9. Inspection and Refund Approval

All returns are subject to inspection by McCabe’s.

After we receive and inspect the item, we will determine whether the return is approved, rejected, or subject to a reduced refund due to condition, missing items, damage, or other policy limits.

If approved, refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

Refund processing times vary depending on payment processor, card issuer, bank, and original payment method.

Shipping charges, delivery charges, handling charges, rush fees, repair charges, service charges, and similar fees are not refundable unless required by law or unless McCabe’s determines that we made an error.

10. Exchanges

Eligible items may be exchanged only if they meet the return requirements in this policy.

Exchanges are subject to availability. If the requested replacement item is not available, McCabe’s may offer a refund, store credit, or another available option, depending on the item and circumstances.

Concert tickets are not exchangeable.

11. Shipping

Shipping options, costs, and estimated delivery times may vary by item, destination, carrier, size, weight, value, insurance requirements, and order details.

We make reasonable efforts to ship online orders within the timeframe stated at checkout, on the product page, or in our communications with you.

If no shipping timeframe is stated, we will make reasonable efforts to ship within 30 days after receiving a properly completed order.

Some instruments, special orders, oversized items, high-value items, fragile items, or items requiring inspection or setup may take longer to prepare for shipment.

Delivery dates are estimates unless McCabe’s expressly states otherwise in writing.

12. Shipping Delays

If shipment is delayed, McCabe’s may contact you with an updated estimated shipping time.

If required by applicable law, we will give you the option to agree to the delay or cancel the unshipped order for a refund.

13. Shipping Damage

Please inspect shipped items promptly upon delivery.

If an item arrives damaged, contact McCabe’s as soon as possible and keep all packaging materials, boxes, labels, padding, and shipping documents.

For shipping damage claims, we may ask for:

  • Photos of the damaged item
  • Photos of the shipping box
  • Photos of the packing materials
  • Photos of shipping labels
  • A description of the damage
  • Order information

Do not discard packaging until McCabe’s or the carrier tells you it is no longer needed.

Shipping damage claims may be affected if packaging is discarded or if the claim is not reported promptly.

14. Return Shipping

Unless McCabe’s made an error or applicable law requires otherwise, customers are responsible for return shipping costs.

Return shipping costs are not refundable.

For higher-value items, we strongly recommend using a trackable shipping service and appropriate insurance.

McCabe’s is not responsible for returned items that are lost, damaged, delayed, or misdelivered in return transit.

15. In-Store Returns

For in-store purchases, please bring the item to McCabe’s along with the receipt, order confirmation, or other purchase information.

In-store returns are subject to the same eligibility, timing, inspection, final-sale, and condition rules described in this policy.

16. Gifts

If an item was purchased as a gift, refunds are generally issued to the original payment method used by the purchaser.

McCabe’s may offer store credit or exchange options for eligible gift returns, depending on the item, purchase record, and circumstances.

17. Sale and Promotional Items

Sale, discounted, clearance, promotional, and bundled items may be final sale or subject to special return conditions.

If a returned item was purchased as part of a discount, promotion, coupon, or bundle, McCabe’s may adjust the refund to reflect the actual amount paid and any discount or bundle value.
